What is Campus Life?

The Campus Life ministry combines healthy relationships with creative programs to help junior and senior high young people make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life, and positively impact their schools. Campus Life seeks to engage these young people wherever they are found as life-long followers of Jesus Christ. Campus Life is a place for students to have fun, make friends and talk about matters to other junior and senior high school students. Campus Life provides a balanced approach - physical, mental, social and spiritual - to give teens the skills and hope they need to live in a turbulent world.

The New Palestine High School & Doe Creek Campus Life programs are directed by a paid full-time Youth for Christ staff member (Joe Tretter) who is assisted by adult volunteers and supported by parents and students interested in sharing the gospel message to Area High School & Middle School Creek students.

Who participates?

The Doe Creek Campus Life program is open to all  7th, and 8th graders. On a weekly basis during the school year, over 100 Doe Creek students participate. There is no sign-up, try outs, or special invitation required. Everyone is invited!

NPHS Campus Life is open to all Freshmen thru Senior High school students. On average 60 students meet weekly.

When and where do you meet?

Doe Creek Campus Life meets every FRIDAY morning during the school year at 6:45 AM. Meetings take place in the Doe Creek gymnasium.

NPHS Campus Life meets every THURSDAY morning during the school year at 6:07 a.m. Meetings take place at New Palestine United Church. (East Main Street New Palestine)

What do you do at the weekly meetings

Weekly meetings are fun and varied. We start with breakfast, each week refreshments are provided giving you a jump start on your day. Then games and other fun activities, then have small group discussions where we talk about a topic or issue that you face as a student. A large group session follows that allows a different leader to share Biblical insight into the discussion topic.

Is it fun?

Not only do you participate in some fun activities, but you get a chance to develop new friends, learn new ideas, and find Christian ways to deal with the daily issues and challenges you face.

Are there other activities?

Yes. Our Campus Life group participates in a number of other great activities throughout the year. This includes: all-nighter at arcade park, ski trip, mission projects, year-end celebration, Christmas party, Bible study, and summer drive-in movie.

What does it cost?

There is no cost for you to participate in the Doe Creek Campus Life program. However some of the special outside activities, such as the ski trip, do have some expense associated with them. The Campus Life staff has provided for a limited number of scholarships to assure that each student has a chance to participate in outside events if interested.

NPHS and Doe Creek Campus Life receives no financial support from the Youth for Christ organization or from the school system. It is completely supported through the volunteer efforts of the leaders and the contributions of generous donors. We welcome any support that you are able to provide our program.

How do I join?

It's easy. Simply come to any regular meeting...7th & 8th grade on Friday mornings during the school year, at 6:45 AM in the Doe Creek gym, Freshmen thru Seniors Thursday mornings during the school year at New Pal United Church, 6:07 a.m. We know youll have fun, find new friends, and learn new ways to deal with challenges in a positive way.
